PRODUCT INFO
This year’s book is full of fancy and will delight your inner gardener. Many articles will inspire you to try new things while others give good advice on solutions to common gardening problems.Â
As prairie gardeners we tend to think outside box and our theme of Myth, Magic and Meditation resonates with that notion. Our theme has been developed to offer an opportunity for the reader to explore differing rationale for why they garden.
Articles on our theme include ones on recreating gardens from medieval times, biblical and East Indian gardens. Several articles examine the importance of trees. The universal appeal of lilies is discussed in articles in both the theme section and the general section. Other flowers with common appeal including irises, roses, peonies, and orchids are addressed in articles in the theme section. Read about what plants to exercise caution with because they contain toxins like those in aconitum and belladonna. Move across the colour spectrum as you read an article about black flowers and then onto moon gardens where the flowers are predominantly white.
The customary use of flowers in weddings contains information on a happier topic. There are a couple of articles celebrating the coming of spring – something that winter weary prairie gardeners eagerly await every year. So, spend your winter delving into the myths, magic and meditation aspects of gardening.Â
